Photograph of Bedford Midland Station, demolished 1978, taken by Mr Fred Cockman. Porte cochère (1857 vintage). These were common in 19th century but rare today. Excellent chimneys; pretty lantern to light booking hall; occupation L. to R. window of station masters office; main entrance; inspectors' and guards' rooms, lamp room and coal store.
