Surveying Papers
The collection consists of the office papers of W.M. Fawcett, and of his successor, T.D. Atkinson, Surveyor of Dilapidations for the Diocese of Ely, concerning the inspections made in Bedfordshire under the Ecclesiastical Dilapidations Act, 1871.
Each bundle generally contains the Bishop's direction; the surveyor's notes which include an inventory of the rooms of the parsonage house and of the other houses and buildings belonging to the parsonage estate, & sometimes an account of the chancel of the church; copy of the report made to the bishop; fees; names of old and new incumbent. There are some letters.
