    Name of institution: Bigland, Gillingham and Long Exhibition Fund Address: Operated from 7 George Street West, Luton; had cottages in Adelaide Terrace & George Street which were let. Purpose: Offering education allowances to local boys & girls through exhibitions, scholarships or total or partial exemptions from tuition fees. Dates: Regulated by a scheme made by the Board of Education under the Charitable Trusts Act on the 23rd December 1905. The first meeting whereby the trustees accepted office was held on the 14th May 1906 at Luton Parish Vestry Room. Ceased to operate in 1996 when the assets were transferred to the Educational Fund (See Z1014/7).
