  • Title
    Release and Conveyance from William Bithrey of Snelson in the parish of Lavendon, Bucks., grasier, only son and heir of William Bithrey, late of Radwell in the parish of Felmersham and Elizabeth, the wife of William Bithrey (i) to Frances Litchfield of Carlton, widow (ii). Recitals: - Z 178/10, 11, 13 - articles of agreement dated 22 Jun 1792 between (i) and (ii), reciting that (i) was indebted to (ii) in the sum of £800 due and owing to her, on account of her share of the personal estate and effects of her late husband William Hopkins Litchfield, witnessing that towards settling the debt (i) covenanted to pay (ii) £500 and assure unto her the lands as in Z 178/10, free from all incumbrances (except a mortgage as in Z 178/13, the principal sum of £270 outstanding). Operative part: In consideration of £500 (part of the debtor sum of £800) paid to (ii) by (i), (i) conveys to (ii) the land as in Z 178/7 (a)-(c). Habendum: to the only use and behoof of (ii), her heirs and assigns forever, but subject the mortgage as in to Z 178/13, and barring Elizabeth Bithrey of her dower and for (i) to effect in the Court of Common Pleas, Westminster, a fine with proclamations. Enclosed: - Lease dated 9 Oct 1794 for one year forming part of Z 178/26. - Examined copy of extract of Fine, dated 21 Mar 1807, Roll A, entry 157, of the conveyance between (i) and (ii) for the Michaelmas Term 1794. Addressed to Mr Cooch, solicitor, Newport Pagnell, Bucks. Endorsed, 'Copied 18th March 1808, S.H. Adams'.
