    Indenture of conveyance from John Marshall of Carlton, yeoman (i) to Uriah Bithrey of Carlton, gentleman (ii), for £400, of: (a) close or inclosed ground with the appurtenances heretofore divided and now being in four parts together with the spinney and lands thereunto belonging lying in Turvey, commonly called Balls Close or Balls Pasture (16a.), formerly in the occupation of William Bithrey the younger and now in the occupation of (i). (b) wood called Grococks and Turvey Fields and a close called Midlow on the south part there of the land now or late of Sir Rowland Alston. (c) several pieces and parcels of arable land, ley and meadow ground lying and being dispersed in the common fields, liberties, precincts, and territories of Charlton and Chellington (21a.), as described in the annexed terrier, as follows: In Carlton Churchfields: - one rood lying on Offield furlong, the land of the Lord Trevor lying on the S side and the land of John Steff on the N, abutting on Filling way E. - two gores containing one rood abutting on Filling way W the land of Sir Rowland Alston lying on the E side thereof. - one half acre abutting upon a place called the March, the land of Sir Rowland Alston lying on the W side thereof and the land of (ii) on the E. - one half acre more upon a furlong called Edenworth furlong the land of Sir Rowland Alston lying on the W side And the land of the said Sir Trevor on the E. - one half acre more upon Hoffold furlong the land of the said Lord Trevor lying on both sides thereof. - one half acre more lying on the same furlong the land of Edward Knight lying on both sides thereof. - one rood more in the same furlong the land of the said Edward Knight on the N. - two lands being one acre lying on a furlong called Longmoors End the common moore lying on the N side thereof And the Glebe land of the Parsonage of Carlton lying on the S abutting on the moore on the W and upon the land of the said Lord Trevor on the E. - four lands containing two acres lying upon the Henworth furlong abutting on midle furlong N and the Churchway S, the land of the said Sir Rowland Alston lying on the E and the land of the said John Steffe S. In Branchmead field: - three roods lying on Pratts furlong the land of John Tole lying on the E side thereof, the Glebe land of Carlton aforesaid on the W. - one rood abutting into the Branchmead, the land of John Bithrey lying on the S and the land of the said Robert Tole on the N side thereof. - one half acre more lying upon a furlong called Long John, the land of Mr John Bithrey lying on the E side and the land of the said Lord Trevor on the W. - one rood more there lying on Stocker furlong, the land of the said Sir Rowland Alston lying on both sides thereof. - one acre more abutting on the bowling leyes, the land of the said Sir Rowland Alston lying on the N side and the said Lord Trevor on the S. - two roods in Ovenstead furlong; one rood thereof the land of Mr Union W and the land of Robert Tole E; the other rood the land of the said Robert Tole W and the land the said Sir Rowland Alston E, abutting upon Bellams highway S. - one acre in Ovenstead the land of John Steffe lying on the W and the land of the said Lord Trevor E. - one half acre in Broadway furlong the land of Mr Union lying on the N side and a furlong called Milding furlong on the S. - one rood more, the land of Sir Trevor lying on the E side and the land of Sir Rowland Alston W abutting upon Allens Green, S and the bowling leyes N. - one rood more, the land of Sir Trevor lying on both sides thereof. In Prigmore Field in Chellington parish: - two acres abutting upon Thomas Fareys Close W. - two acres more abutting upon the last mentioned two acres S and upon the land of Mr Union N. - one rood abutting upon a place called Fullers Gap the land of the said Lord Trevor lying both sides thereof. - three roods upon Bellams Baulk furlong, the land of the said Lord Trevor lying both sides thereof. - one acre being four lands abutting upon a place there called Harris Close towards the W and upon Bellams Baulk towards the E the land of the said Lord Trevor lying on both sides thereof. In Chellington Churchfield: - one rood lying on Clay furlong abutting N upon Fishers Baulk, the land of Mr Union lying on the E side and the land of the said Lord Trevor on the W. - one half acre more thereof lying on the same furlong the land of the said Lord Trevor lying on both sides thereof. - in Broadway furlong three roods, the land of Mr Tole lying on the S side and the land of Sir Rowland Alston on the N side thereof, abutting on the land of the said Sir Trevor E and upon the said (ii) W. In Hills Field Carlton Parish: - one half acre abutting on Long Wells Slade S, and the land of Mr Tole lying on the E side thereof and the land of William Rennolds on the W In Moores Field: - one rood on Moores furlong the land of the said Sir Rowland Alston E and the land of the said Lord Trevor W abutting on the Moore S and Hunts corner N. - one rood lying next the land of the said Lord Trevor W and Miles Balkervile E the moore S and abutting on Nunmead furlong N. - one rood lying in Wigney furlong next the land of Michael Balkervile E and the land of the said Lord Trevor W abutting down to Wigney meadow NE and to the moore SW. - one rood lying next the land of Sir Rowland Alston E and (ii) W. Habendum: to the only proper use and behoof of (ii), his heirs and assigns forever. Witnesses: Mary Bodington and Samuel Massey.
