The material was either created or collected by Mr P Rutland. Some had a family connection, some was of a more general local history content and some material was everyday ephemera relating to Mr and Mrs Rutland.
Archival history
Deposited with Campton Parish Council between 1975-1979. The collection was catalogued as deposited and no thought given to the archival quality of some of the material. There was no order given to the collection due to the sporadic nature of its deposit. In 2014 the collection was reviewed and some material deaccessioned as having no archival value. This material was returned to the Parish Council at their request. The rest of the collection was recatalogued and in some cases renumbered to give a clearer and more user friendly collection.
