- Archival historyDevelopment on the western side of Bedford was well underway by the early 1890s. In 1894 the Campion Estate was being laid out and in March the vicar of St Paul's Bedford entered into a contract to purchase lots 131 to 137 for the erection of a church. In 1895 an iron church was erected. This was replaced by a stone church the foundations of which were laid in June 1909 and the church being dedicated on All Saints' Day 1910. The church remained a district of St Paul's Parish until 1916. The church was consecrated on 29 June 1916 and from November 1916 operated as a separate parish.
