Letter followed him to Margate where been staying for fortnight. Richard and Phemie's pecuniary difficulties great. Only subsistence; very small income Phemie gets from cottages, all that is left from property at Sawtry. Only can exist at all thanks to the wife's assistance. Attenboroughs done nothing for them since 1915 when W A [Walter Attenborough) allowed Richard 20 shillings a week until he joined the army. Did pay expenses when Joan was away ill. Wrote because said in paper George Yearherd's Will left life interest in half his property of c.£50,000 to his brother and his wife. Not suggesting a figure for Mrs Yearherd to give. Mrs Hipwell sends her sister £10 per month - has sent £25 during past 12 months for extras. Not wealthy people but always tried to help relatives.
