Frank Mayes used the name Milray as an actor from the early 20's and when signing his work as an artist. When he was not engaged as an actor on tour throughout the UK he resided at the Willows cottage, Pavenham between 1923 - 1931. After which the family moved to West End, Stevington until his death in 1936.
Scope and Content
The drawings and linocut prints of Pavenham comprise of series I (Z1079/1-6) and II (Z1079/7-12) and date between 1924 & 1929. Linocuts Z1079/14-17 show scenes outside Pavenham and unlike the Pavenham series they have been conveniently dated by Milray.
