  • Title
William and Lizzie Goodwin of Arlesey. Initially William Goodwin worked at the brickyard but subsequently the couple became live-in caretakers of the brickyard Institute. This was a large building serving as a social club with billiards, concerts etc. William and Lizzie Goodwin had no children, and in old age were fairly well off. They moved into Foresters Terrace, four doors away from Sarah Mallett. They owned a grandfather clock made by C N Field of Hitchin between 1828 and 1851.
