RURAL CRAFTS - Millwrights Two daybooks (Hunts., Soham, Cambs.?), stiff covers, 13 x 5", 536 and 559 pp. 1912-1916; 1916-1920 There is no name, but customers include Soham Gas Co. and Soham Parish Council, and are indexed at front. The order is written in in fair detail, and a 'x' appears to be added on completion; sometimes the cost is added. Sample entries:- "H.E. rep. grasscutter, ½ day." "F.J.H. fit opening to hand drill, 2 hrs." "W.N.H. 1½ days rep. horse hoe, viz. 8 centre hoes set & sharpened, 1 coulter cut & welded in 2 places." At end, reversed: small orders under the heading "odd things":- e.g. "one saw set & sharpened."
