"King's warrant appointing trustees for the Indian Booty."
Warrant under royal sign manual: whereas in consequence of aggressions, wars were carried on 1817-18 by H.M. forces, in company with the forces of the United Company of Merchants of England trading to the East Indies, against the Pindarees and certain of the Mahratta states; and booty was taken which should belong to the Crown, trustees (Arthur, Duke of Wellington, and Charles Arbuthnot) are appointed to collect the sd. booty and prepare a scheme for its distribution, in accordance with an Act passed 54 Geo. III.
