Bound vellum; 12 x 8. Front cover lettered H K pages numbered 141-799) Containing the accounts of Henry Kingsley (see eg pp 141, 204, 796) and his son Heylock (see eg pp 142, 204).
pp 142-326 contain accounts 1699-1718; in little detail; the usual entry is "a year's rent in money and taxes"; pages are headed with tenants' names, but place names appear only incidentally, e.g.

pp. 796-9 bear receipts from the minister, churchwarden and overseer of Abbotsley for payments by Henry Kingsley of Hitchin esq., exor. of Wm. Heylock gent. decd., of various sums of 5.
One or two entries about brickmaking:-
p. 142 "Received...16 3s.6d. in full for making and burning 65,500 bricks, and for digging a water pond and for 6 days work at Caldcot and all other demands."
p. 707 "Received ...4 10s. for digging clay for sixty thousand bricks".
Archival history
These books were purchased by Mr. Bagshawe on the sale of the library at Hasells Hall, 1947.
Heylock Kingsley bought the Hasells, Sandy, in 1741, and through his daughter's marriage the property came to the Pym family.
