    Summary History: 1815 National School founded at Biggleswade for education of the Poor in the principles of the Established Church. 1843 School rooms built by public subscription (according to 1894 directory) in what was in 1894 'Station Road'. Conflicts? with survey of 1839 which says schoolroom had been built by then. 1902 25 March: Boys' National founded by deed. Buildings in Station Rd. 1904 Boys moved to new buildings, Church St. formally opened 6 January 1910 Infants' and Girls' Depts moved from Boys' old premises in Station Rd to new building in Shortmead St. (see SD Biggleswade NAT 6/1) 1944 ?Became VCP School (Voluntary Controlled Primary) under Education Act. 1964 Church St and Shortmead St buildings vacated in March. Occupied buildings in Rose Lane, sharing the site with the Board Schools already there. 1973 School to be named St Andrew's School (see SD Biggleswade NAT 4/1 (no 29)) 1988 School moved to new buildings in Brunts Lane in October Sources: CRT 130 Big 5 and 49.
