- Scope and ContentThe Second World War intensified the need for agricultural workers on the land and the vacancies were largely taken up by members of the Women's Land Army such as Miss West who worked as a milk recorder for the Milk Marketing Board. These records of Miss West then of 70 Lea Road, Luton give a fascinating insight into the knowledge a milk recorder had to acquire and the roles they played locally and nationally during the Second World War. Miss West died early 2004 aged 85, she never married.
