Now living at Erice near Trapani, Sicily. Picking up stores in Catania. Arrived here early October.
We called at Valetta on the boat and then disembarked at Taranto, silly as we had to make the considerable journey here by rail and the stench of garlic was something 'orrible. Managed a sojourn of 5 days at Etna (6000 ft and whizzo grub), plenty of bathing.
Erice is nice. Local postmistress is translator, she spent 10 years in the States.
Billets in 2 civvy houses. Hopes water supply is ok by the time Alec arrives. For a tech site they have the ex Coastguard station. Everyone interested to hear about Alec's stay in Glasgow. Making arrangements for a good time at Christmas.
