Grateful to the dog who woke them up by barking. They switched the light on. Dog settled down again. When Dad went down in the morning the big gates were open, so someone must have been about. Quite a few houses entered in the area recently.
A year since you were home on leave from Kilkeel.
Alfred is out of hospital and back with his unit again.
Letter to Alec in same envelope from his sister Mary:
Busy at the Dairy, have started new ledgers. Trade Board man has been round checking up wages. Plenty are wrong.
The airman who used to live with Miss Newton is back at Oakley again.
Time to get my curlers in, will write again.
