  • Admin/biog history
Although the provenance of these papers is unclear they appear to be notes and papers created or collected by Mr Power in respect of his participation in the Dunstable Society. The Society appears to have been formed in 1966. Its activities included: acting as a pressure group on planning issues, involving the London University School of Town and Country Planning in a project to look at Dunstable, and campaigning against the proposed third London airport at Wing. Mr Power qualified as an architect in approximately 1963 and at that time planned to practice in both London and his home town of Dunstable. He appears to have been involved in the Dunstable Society from at least 1967 and in 1969 was chairman of the society.
  • System of arrangement
The papers were in no particular order when received. They included journals and articles on town planning, which were presumably used as reference material and have not been retained, drafts of correspondence, photographs of Dunstable, sketches and plans and minutes of the Society. The papers have been roughly grouped into categories for ease of reference.
