Correspondence between T.H.H.Skeet MP, Miss G.Jones and the Baptist Union Corporation Limited regarding Chapel Cottage and noting that the site included - a chapel "dating back to the days of John Bunyan" which was a listed building, school room fronting Riseley Road and a small cottage, two roomed cottage, kitchen and bathroom added to the end of it with a four bedroomed manse behind, all buildings being "very dilapidated" The history of negotiations surrounding the site is described as: - the minister, over eighty, resigned and moved away to Scotland leaving three or four members, including Miss Jones, who decided to move to Keysoe Row Baptist Church; the family in the cottage was rehoused [see X715/27] as the premises were damp and connected only to a septic tank which continually overflowed; Miss Jones was living in a caravan "on the church ground without permission of the Trustees and without permission of the local Council" and was subsequently rehoused in Riseley
