his capacity of Guardian of Peter Compton, esq. son and heir
of the late Sir William Compton, a minor to Edward Philippes,
clerk and Edward Pecke, gent. of the manor of Harrold, Co:
Bedford hold during the nonage of the said Peter, at a rose
rent.
Dated, 20 July, 21 Hen. VIII (1529) Unsigned, but the
centre of the Cardinal's seal, a chalice in an ecclesiasti-
cal building remains.
