    Copy of Marriage Settlement i) the Rt. Hon. Lord Rich., Earl of Kent ii) Chas. Somersett, knt., Lord Herbert & of Gower recites: Lady Anne Grey, sis. of i) to marry Hen., son of ii) before 31 May next now: i) covenants to give Lady Anne 'all manner of apparell and all other thinges to her appteyning and convenient for the daie of the same Mariage' ii) to give Henry 'all his Apparaill and all other thinges to hym Covenent for the same Mariage' ii) to make cause before the next Feast of Pentecost to Sir Dav. Owen,knt., Sir Geo. Maners, knt., Chris. Baynbrigge, clk., dean of Windsor, St John Fisher, knt., one of King's Justices of Common Pleas, Sir Edm. Luce, knt., Wm Gascoigne & Jn Newdegate, gent., ' a good Sufficent and Lawfull Astate in the Lawe of and in Manours Lands Tenements and hereditaments to the yerely Value of oon hundred Marks' & these gents. to hold sd. estate in trust for Hen. & Lady Anne ii) covenants to leave to Hen. after ii)'s death & death of his w., Lady Eliz., 'all Castellis Lordshipps Mannors Lands Tenements and other hereditaments which to them descended' i) to go before above gents. and give estate to value of 240 'in Consideracion that the said Lord Herbert and of Gower might have great preferment and Advancement of his said heire apparant if hee wold marie hym with other....' to above gents. as feoffees for Hen. &Lady Anne & if they die then as feoffees of sd. estates to value of 80p.a. to ii) & his heirs i) covenants that issues of above manors shall be paid in following way: 80p.a. to ii) until Hen. Somersett reaches 21 140 not to be taken by ii) or Hen. Somersett & Anne during life of i) but after his death providing that if i) has any male issue by his wife, Lady Elizabeth, then ii) & Hen. shall forbear receiving as much of estate valued at 240 as amounts to 80p.a. during life as such male issue i) to deliver to ii) & Hen. Somerset & Lady Anne all evidence of estate of value 240p.a. ii) to have rule of Hen. Somersett & Lady Anne till Hen. reaches 21 & to keep them 'aftur theire degree' If Hen. dies before 'and before Carnall Knowledge had bitwene hym and the said Lady Anne his wife' then feoffees to be feoffees to use of ii) & his heirs ii) to have setting & letting of sd. property of yearly value of 100 marks & 240 till Hen. 21 i) to be bound to ii) by Recognizance in Chancery dated 4 Dec 22 Hen VII (1506) in 2000 on 4 Dec 1506 i) came before King in his Chancellry & recognised sd. indenture dated: 4 Dec 22HenVII (1506) end: 'Mem this Marrage took no effect paper with fleur de lys watermark
