Indenture of Will
of Jn Russheby, Lord of Broybury
testifies that Jn Meperteshale, Geo Geddyngs, Jn Beche,
Jn Deer chaplain, Wm Snowe & Jn White, feoffees of all
manors, lands, meadows, pastures & grasslands, woods,
revenues, services, enclosures, ditches & all other
appurts. of Jn Russheby, shall enfeoff Alice, wife of
sd. Jn Russheby for the term of her life in the Manor
of 'la hyde' in par. of Lte. Gravenhurst. After her
death they shall remainder the sd. Manor toThos., son
of sd. Jn Russheby, if sd. Thos. dies without heirs
they are to remainder it to Wm, bro, of sd. Thos. &
his heirs. If Wm die without legitimate heirs then
the feoffees are to sell sd. manor and use proceeds to
help marry the daus. of sd. Jn Russheby or dispose of
proceeds for good of souls of Jn, his wife & children
Alice also to have Manor of Broybury for life as long
as she remain single & she may have it if she marries
again as long as she has guided Thos & Wm in all those
necessities which befit such gentlemen. If she does
not so guide her sons, then Thos to have the Manor on
reaching full age, and if he has no legitimate heirs it
is to pass to his bro.,Wm., and his heirs, excepting all
the time the dower of sd. Alice in sd. Manor. If both
Thos & Wm die without legitimate heirs then remainder to
Alice and her assigns for life without restraint for
waste, that is with the feoffees after the death of her
sons she is to sell the reversion of the sd. Manor &
use one part to help the marriages of her daus., and the
other part for the good of the souls of Jn, Alice & their
children
One half of indenture to remain in custody of feoffees and
other half in custody of Alice so that these last wishes
may be implemented
