Letter from Edward Halford Strange to his Mother 19 Sep 1883 Dear Mother I am going to write to you today for composition. I hope you are enjoying yourself at Bournemouth. We have picked a good many blackberries while you have been away. The first time we picked about a pound and the second about a pound and three quarters; with the first lot Minnie made into a charlotte. And the second is going to be made into a suet pudding. I went to Cam and Uley yesterday with Papa and it was very nice weather. We shall be glad when you come back. Minnie and Wilfred went to the bazaar last night and papa and I are going tonight. Wilfred spent threepence, and Minnie bought him a boat because he took a fancy to it, and she gave me a book for a birthday present. With much love to you, I remain your loving son, Edward Halford Strange P.S. Miss Ruegg sends her love to you. Envelope 'Mother'.
