Theodore Strange to Samuel May Strange 12 Apr 1868 Ipswich April 12/68 My dear Brother I wish in my present letter to you to express my most sincere thanks for your kind gifts - of last week. The time is getting very short now, before I sail, & this is probably the last letter you will have direct from me during my short stay in England. You know pretty much what my plans are I believe viz. after I arrive at Montreal I shall strike out for the interior. I shall take the first thing that turns up and I hope eventually by steadfastly sticking to work, & by doing what is right, both in the sight of God & Man, to become possessed of land of my own, so that I shall be able to have a home of my own. I shall have the comfort of knowing when I am away, that I am not quite forgotten by my many kind friends & relations, & also that mention is made of me in very many of their prayers. I have almost got everything packed by this time. I shall leave Ipswich by the 10.30 train via Cambridge, Bedford, Bletchley &c. reaching Liverpool about 9.20. I shall have the day in Liverpool to get my things on board etc, & shall sail on Thursday 16th calling at Londonderry the following day, thence straight to Quebec, whence I take the cars for Montreal. The passage will be about 11 days long in all probability. I must now conclude so once more thanking you for your very great kindness I remain Your Affectionate Brother Theodore Strange Envelope: S.M.Strange Postmarks: IPSWICH BRISTOL Wedmore & Co 12.4.1868 13.4.1868 Bristol
