My dear Cousin,
On my recent return home after an absence of nearly 4 months principally spent at MentRhydding[?] the accounts of thy dear Father were of such a critical nature that I could scarcely indulge the hope of his survival but the note received yesterday from cousin Caroline gives such a comforting report of his present state that I am induced to write a few lines to express my sympathy with you & him under such a dispensation & the pleasure I have felt in hearing of his peaceful state.
Do give my dear love to him & tell him that I have often reflected with satisfaction & I hope with gratitude upon the period which I passed under his care & that of my late beloved Aunt -
With love to all my cousins
Thy affectionate cousin
Henry Tuckett
P.S. While at MentRhydding I frequently saw my old fellow apprentice Henry Waterhouse, his wife & daughter were staying in the establishment.
Philip & Anna leave home for Wycombe tomorrow.
