Title
Benjamin Strange to Edward Harris Strange (brother) 26 Feb 1845
[Almeley] Febry 26th 1845
My Dear Brother
I have the painful task to inform you that our dear Mother is no more she departed this life at 6 o'clock this morning after a life of pain and trouble in this lower world where I hope she is gone to a far better one where pain and trouble cease
There was no material change on Sunday last of which we thought there was a slight attack of apoplexy and since that time to the time she departed she continued in a calm composed state much of the time dosing asleep till 20 minutes to 6 o'clock.
We have arranged for the funeral to take place on Monday next when we should be glad of your attendance if you can arrange matters to that effect I should be much oblig'd if you would send by return of post weather you could come or not.
I have sent the same to John, perhaps you could ascertain if he comes or not -
Give our kind love to your dear Family
and believe me to remain
your affectionate Brother - Ben Strange.
