Next 3rd day we three sisters Tuckett Arch & I go in a chaise thro' Staines to Alton dine with Frederick Curtis return on 7th when I am commissioned to invite thy F. to be ready here to spend the 16th together it will be pleasant to us if all is well - but poor J.P.W. is not so well he is very sinking suffers greatly from weariness but occasionally looks cheerful giving evidence that his mind is under best preparation - I spent a quiet hour with him lately to the relief of my own mind. He expected to have made a quiet visit to Ampthill before now, to be laid by his dear Jane & has left it so in his will. Yesterday I went with Edward to call upon Margaret she is to meet me here but we do not know exactly when - my sisters had called there in the carriage with Carry on their way here to dinner leaving my sister T. here for two nights - one bed holds us well, but here is a regular chat keeping up - sister is very well & we put on nicely she does not go home just yet sister H. consequently cannot visit Ampthill just yet. Shall I ask Emily & one of the Fish St. Curtis's?- I have not yet been to the Dentist - have you heard of the death of Thomas Marriage possibly it may prevent Jane's visit to Chelmsford this week - How awfully sudden was the death of John Holmes of Elm last 2nd day he was the intimate friend of James & Cordelia Bayes, they feel it keenly the latter is quite poorly - In great haste with much love to all Thy ever affectionate Mother.
