Eliza Flintoft to Priscilla May 15 June 1826 Norwich 6/15 - 1826 My dear Priscilla, Though it is a long time since I saw thee or heard any thing from thee, I thought a few lines from an old friend might be acceptable. I suppose thou hast now been at home some time, as thy cousin Jane Foster tells me thou was to leave in the Spring. we are to leave Norwich next 2nd day morning so that we are now very busy preparing to go; Mary Anne & I do not leave return again, but we expect that Rachel Maria will. Hast thou heard from Catharine Smith lately? I had a letter from her in the Winter and a few months after I answered it, so thou sees we are not very regular correspondents. Dost thou like Newington School? I understand it is a very comfortable one, and that you are very happy there. We saw a great many of the Doncaster girls last Summer as we went on visits to Nottingham, Sheffield, and Kendal &c. I think thou wast at school with Phebe Bakewell, we have heard she is going to be married to Dr Howitt. Maria Crewdson and the other girls who came from Kendall were little altered; whilst we were at Kendal Hannah Maria and Eliza Cooke came to pay a visit at Mary Braithewaites so that we were quite a company of old friends. I was particularly glad to see my dear friend E.Hall whose company I enjoyed very much. Hast thou heard or seen anything of Mary Ady (late Ridet) I should like very much to see her for I think she was very kind as a teacher. I cannot imagine {?Adwin} Kenway (or rather Hiniston) to be Married I believe she is likely to be a mother soon. I shall be glad of a letter from thee whenever thou art minded to write. Mary Anne and Rachel Maria send their dear love; Mary Anne would have written but is very much engaged. With my dear love I remain thine affectionate Eliza Flintoft Excuse this short letter, but thou knows Vacation muddles. Priscilla May Obligd by J.Foster Ampthill
