  • Title
From Louisa's brother John Hooper b.1810, d.1829 to Priscilla May c.1826 Dear Coz It is with infinite satisfaction, that after having so many times wished thy album many miles on the other side of the Atlantic, I can return it to thee finished, & without the loss of a single leaf. I beg though that thou wilt not attribute these very unkind wishes to any unwillingness to oblige my coz -; far from it, nothing would at any time afford me more pleasure; but my practise in album drawing is so very little, & there is always such an inexplicable something connected with the very idea of it, that I am almost afraid to make one stroke follow another - so that whatever defects may be discovered must be ascribed to an involuntary tremor of the hand - Trusting that thy kindness will take the will for the deed I remain with all due submission thy ever affectionate coz. - J.Hooper Priscilla May - [sealed : small circular waffle]
