    The 'Spotlight' Magazine, first issued under the title Spotlight on Clophill in May 1979, grew out of an older magazine called Action (later re-named 'Outlook') launched in March 1967. Spotlight on Clophill was subsequently renamed Spotlight (June 1980) and Clophill Spotlight Magazine (June 1981). It's circulation in 1984 was c.550. It is an independently produced local magazine comprising c.12-30 pp. per issuel with line drawings and some photocopies of photographs) reporting local news, events, and items of interest as well as more general topics. In particular, it includes regular reports of news and events re Parish Council meetings and business (including Planning Applications), St. Mary's Church, Clophill W.I., Methodist Church, Consrvation Group, Flower Group, Playgroup, Youth Club, Village Hall Management Committee, Beverley Court (sheltered home) and Tuesday Club, Friends of Cheshire Home, the village's public houses and local sport (especially netball, football, and tug-of-war); regulat feature articles on local history, gardening, cookery and special features on Clophill's footpaths (Z 579/23-27), Clophill United Charities (Z 579/48) but also on general topics including conservation, karate and self defence, Citizen's Advice, Statutory Sick Pay, bird migration, homewatch (articles submitted by Bedfordshire County Police) and comments on local issues and topics of interest, articles re hobbies, crafts, interests of villagers and poetry, correspondence messages, notices, etc.submitted by villagers; and also, each issue, includes many local advertisements and a diary of local events.
