- Admin/biog historyLand in Maulden This section of the catalogue is concerned, for the most part, with the title deeds of small properties in Maulden which were purchased by the Earl de Grey in 1845. The purchase deeds themselves are not here, but it is evident from the abstracts of title (10/12, 46, and 72.) that the Earl bought the property from the devisees of William Arnold, a farmer of Maulden, the son of Robert Arnold of Ampthill who had acquired the whole from three owners in 1805, 1817, and 1820.10/73, read in conjunction with the Ordnance Survey Map would suggest that these Maulden lands probably formed a contiguous block with the Wrest estate in Silsoe to the south. ARRANGEMENT I. Lands Purchased by Earl de Grey in 1845: L10/1-73 II. Miscellaneous Deeds: L10/74-77
