    Conveyance from James Hyde, jobber, late of Stotfold but now of Bell Post Station, Long Island, New York, U.S.A. to Joseph Simpson and Thomas George Simpson of Baldock, Herts, common brewers and co-partners, for 175, of: (a) four cottages or tenements with gardens and ground in Stotfold, near and on the opposite side of the road to an allotment lately made for the purpose of Recreation Ground occupied by Henry Waller, William Howard, David Gruble and William Craft, bounded on NE by the road or street, on SE by a messuage lately of Joseph Lofts now of Hannah Payne, and on all other sides by other cottages and land now belonging to Pestell Hyde [of Stotfold, farmer] as devisee in fee in the will of JH (see below) and also forming part of JH's purchase from Meagre's devisees (again see below) Includes declaration barring dower; and also witnesses covenant by PH to produce certain scheduled deeds - relating to the purchase from Meagre's devisees - to support the title of (a) above - beginning with an indenture of 18 July 1800 made between William Kitchener and his wife Sarah and William Risely and his wife Sarah of the first, Benjamin Meagre of the second and James Ind of the third, and including deeds to which several members of the Ayres family were parties Recites as follows: Will dated 10 May 1839 of John Hyde/Hide of Stotfold, farmer, the father of JH and PH in which he devised copyhold land in Stotfold to his son JH and devised the remainder of his realty - including the above land (a) which he had purchased, with other land, from the devisees in the will of Benjamin Meagre - to his wife Mary Hyde for life or widowhood, remainder to JH in fee Death of JH on 22 Dec 1842 and probate of his will in the PCC on 16 Feb 1843; death of MH on 13 July 1858.
