    Extracted/examined copy of will of Joseph Woodcraft of Kensworth, yeoman, dated 26 April 1843. Probate at Hemel Hempstead (Archdeaconry of St. Albans) 19 July 1849. Gives, devises and bequeaths as follows: - to William and James Woodcraft, his sons, the sum of 5 apiece. - to his wife Sophia Woodcraft, all his personalty for life, to be divided amongst his surviving children at her death; and for life, remainder his two sons for sale upon trust for sale... (a) all and every cottages or tenements, gardens, ground, hereditaments and premises at Kensworth ... monies arising form the sale - after all his debts etc. have been discharged - to go to and equally amongst all his children William Woodcraft; Elizabeth, the wife of James Andrews, Rebecca Lambert, widow, Emma, wife of William Kenney, Eliza Woodcraft, Sophia, wife of William Scott, and James Woodcraft. Appoints William Woodcraft of St. Margaret's (Herts.) and James Woodcraft of Kensworth as executors. Witnesses: W. Houghton of Dunstable, solicitor, and J. N. Cartwright.
