Probate copy of will of John Howard Howard of Clapham Park, stating his death at Clapham Park on 30 September 1940, appointing Audrey Muriel Howard, daughter of dec'd and Howard Seys-Phillips, solicitor nephew of dec'd as two of the executors, the nett value of the estate amounting to 85106 after payment of 22016 estate duty, probate granted 31 January 1941.
(I) Appoints AMH and HSP as executors and trustees along with Douglas Frederick Howard, son, HM Diplomatic Service.
(II) Bequests:
(a) To nieces Dorothy Wendon Beveridge and Elsie Daughtry and Hilda Howard 300 each
(b) Nephew James Howard 300
(c) Florence Howard of Wavendon, Bucks 300
(d) Howard Seys Philips 300
(e) 100 to each servant (listed) if still in service
(f) 100 to Rose Hartley, wife's servant for 30 years
(g) 25 for other servants with more than two years service
(h) 1000 to the Bedford County Hospital
(i) 100 to the Bedford Branch of the Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society
(j) 100 to the Vicar of Clapham for his own use and benefit
(k) 100 to the Reverend Arthur Henry Sproule of the Vicarage of Stevington
(III) Bequests:To his wife Carlota Drysdale Howard all of Clapham Park including all furnishings and stock, and same to Douglas Frederick Howard if CDH should predecease JHH
