    Manor of Toddington Reciting that John Carr, late a customary tenant of the Manor, held - piece ground in Toddington (2 acres 2 rod 10 perch) front highway from Toddington to Chalton and Luton rear next described piece of land side towards Toddington (pt) former gravel pit in Upper Field (pt) John Gadsden and Robert Fowler, afterwards Thomas Willis - 7 acres land in Toddington side towards Toddington (pt) Furzen Close (pt) land in Upper Field belonging to John Gadsden End looking towards Luton Road above piece of land Side looking towards Chalgrave land late of Robert Fowler and then Thos Willis Front end land sold by William George to William Atkins John Carr was admitted to above pieces of land at Court held on 25 May 1865 - piece of land consisting of 2 fields called Upper Field and Furzen Close in Toddington (24 acres 1 rod 2 perch) East (part) Luton Road South (part) & other part East John Carr, deceased South (other part) William Atkins West Dunstable Road North (rem part) Messrs Goodman and Parsons John Carr was admitted to above piece of land on 5 October 1865 On his death a heriot became due which was compounded at 10 10s. By his will dated 27 April 1867 he devised to Robert Carr of New Kentish Town, Middlesex, gentleman, Richard Carr, Marston, farmer, and William Olney, Flitwick, farmer - piece ground (64a) at Toddington on trust for sale Robert Carr, one of trustees, died on 15 December 1867 Now Richard Carr and William Olney are admitted tenants to aforesaid premises, subject to conditional surrender affecting part of the premises to which John Carr was admitted out of court on 5 October 1865 on surrender of John Gadsden for securing to Burges Gadsen the sum of 1200 and interest yearly rents - 10s 9d and 1 7s 8d 21 May 1868
