    Consideration: £5 - piece of land (plan in margin) at Church End, Marston, as site for National School "for the Education of Children and adults or Children only of the labouring, manufacturing and other poorer classes ... of Marston Moretaine" Open to H.M. Inspectors according to Order in Council of 10 August 1840 Managers: Rector of Marston and/or curate, Duke of Bedford, Lord of Manor of Marston Moretaine, Fred. Pet. Delme Radcliffe esq, Jn Hubbard esq, Theed Pearse jnr esq., landowners in parish and subscribers to school. Rector to be Chairman with casting vote. "The Committee shall annually select from among its members one to act as Secretary who shall keep minutes of the proceedings ... And the said Committee of management shall have power from time to time to select and appoint a Committee of not more than five ladies being members of the Church of England to assist them in the visitation of the Girls and Infant School ..."
