1874 New Schools built at Dog Acre (Rose lane), opening July 1875
1902 Became Council Schools
1930 Re-organisation. Rose Lane continued to have an Infants' section. Now became senior elementary schools - Biggleswade Senior Girls' Council and Biggleswade Senior Boys' Council (pupils age 11+) with the National Schools taking those aged 8-11
1942 School to be a mixed one from 31 August (Beds CC Education Committee). Biggleswade Senior Mixed Council School
1944 Education Act. Rose Lane became a Secondary Modern, while the National (Church) schools remained as junior schools
1958 Infants to new Lawnside School
1964 National School pupils vacate Church and Shortmead St Schools and move to Rose Lane, becoming Holmemead CSM School (now Holmemead Middle)
