    Probate of will of Thoswihan Brandreth, esq., decd. to w. Mary for life, messuage in Houghton Regis late in the tenure of John Bird, since of Sarah Arnold, now Mrs. Foden, and on her death to son Henry and heirs; to w. Mary the messuage or mansion house where testator lives and other messuages, lands etc. in Bedfordshire until son Henry reaches age 21, and from the income to pay interest on mortgages, pay herself 100 for own maintenance, 80 for maintenance of son Henry and 20 each for board of daus. Mary (eldest), Rebecca (second) at expiration of her apprenticeship; Sarah (third. If son Henry wishes to purchase a commission in the army or to place himself at the Bar or enter any other profession then testator's mother's exors. to pay and apply money beq. to him in her will. If two eldest daus. wish to live apart from their mother during minority of Henry then to have allowances as above. If wife wishes to move form the mansion house, then she can take with her furniture of one parlour, and of one bedchamber and garrett, and such linen, china and kitchen furniture as she wishes. When son attain majority he is to take over mansion etc. and pay mother her allowance as above, and the 20 for youngest dau., and to the elder daus. so much money as shall with the money or stock beq. to each of them by testator's mother's will make 1000 sterling, which sum also the youngest dau. is to have at age 21. To wife all his share of the house in Cheapside, London, which he claims jointly with his sister by virtue of last will of Mr. Buckeridge, grandfather, to sell. If wife die before son gets to age 21yrs, then estates devised to wife to go to Thos. Baskerfield junr., Hart St., Bloomsbury Sq., London, esq., and heirs, for like uses. made 12 Feb 1788, pr.
