Stanlake, Inner Temple, London, gent. being a Settlement on the marriage of Thoswihan Brandreth and Mary Buckeridge, being Covenant by (I) to levy fine and suffer recovery on various properties to uses, i.e. - as to rectory or parsonage and tithes of H.R. to (III) for term of 100 yrs to use Nehemiah Brandreth for life, then to Thoswihan Brandreth for life, then to heirs male of Thoswihan by Mary Buckeridge; - as to capital messuage etc., to Thoswihan Brandreth for life, then - lands etc. to w. Mary for life - cap. messuage to uses heirs male of Thos. Brandreth by Mary his wife Terms of years in premises were granted to trustees to raise portions for younger chn., and reciting that (Ia) died soon after the marriage, and that (Ib), father of (i), thinking that he was entitled to an estate of inheritance in the fee farm rent of 41, mortgaged the same 9 May 1745, as in B 372 above, and that Thoswihan Brandreth the father died August 1752 leaving a widow Mary, an only son Thoswihan, and two daus., Mary Brandreth now still under 21, and Rebecca Brandreth who died soon after while still an infant., reciting bill in Chancery 30 Oct 1755 by Sam. Nicoll of Hillingdson, Mddx., esq. and w. Sarah, and cause heard 17 Apr 1758, in which defdts. alledged that the fee farm rent had long since been extinguished, and that this plea was accepted by the court, and reciting that Thoswihan Brandreth has now come of age, and in order to end disputes he has agreed to make other security for the mortgage and that Sarah Nicoll has advanced another 100 making in all 700 RELEASE of Coveyance by L & R (2 copies) by (i) and (ii) to (iv) - capital messuage or tenement heretofore built by Lady Alice Milard late on poss. Nehemiah Brandreth and now of Thoswihan Brandreth in Houghton Regis, near Cookes Lane on W and the common green on the N, and all outbuildings, gardens etc. and freehold land called Two Years Land - 90 a. Two Years Land in common fields - 2.1/2 a. Inning Land in South Field - 1/2a. bet. the two baulks shooting up to the downs - 1/2a on Poppy Hill - 1/2a in Milden Bottom - 1/2 a by Sundon Path - 1/2a in Long Eaton being a baulk on the N side - the great tithes of the said 90a. above, and of 30.1/2a. copyhold land, and 2.1/2a. Innin land, all late in the occ. of Mich. Messeder als. Toby, and late of Wm. Pollard - 30a. freehold land called Inning land in Houghton Regis -2a. in Long Eaton in South Field in Houghton Regis. -2 half acres in St. Marys in South Field -1a in Peaseden Bottom in South Field - 3 half acres at Adams hedge flg in South Field - three half acres near Gt. Maunsey close - 23 acres in Mill Hill piece - great tithes of said 30a., also in occ. Wm. Pollard and all other hereditaments in H.R. pur. by Dame Alice Milard of John Pedder, Math. Page and w. Joan, Luke Noon and w. Mary, on 20 May 1692; - the rectory or parsonage of H.R. and tithes appertaining to it - the parsonage or mansion house belonging to the rectory and the buildings adj. and the site of the same all purchased by Dame Alice Milard of Jeffery Elwes gent. 16 Mar 1691/2 to hold to Benj. Collier to suffer a recovery to uses, i.e. - as to property mentioned in Marriage Settlement 1 May 1739 to the use of (ii) as her jointure; - as to tithes held by Henry Howes at 7 14s. p.a.; by Henry Sibley at 12 10s. p.a.; Francis Collyer at 14 8s. p.a.; Wm. Buckmaster at 11 12s. p.a.; Mr. Gutteridge at 12 12s. p.a.; John Norman at 5 p.a.; John Bunker at 6s. p.a.; Mr. Timberlake 64 p.a.; and the tithes held by Wm. Pollard etc. to the use of (ii) for life, as in the settlement; - as to the capital mess. etc., to the use of Sarah Nicoll by way of security for mortgage for 700, and then to (i) for ever.
