A single nummerical series with negatives numbered individually from 1 to 86,450. Most are glass plate negatives with some plastic negatives interspersed and then taking over during the 1960s. There is some double numbering of negatives sometimes due to to same job being photographed on both glass plates and plastic but sometimes apparently just due to a hick-up in the numbering system. To order: use the subject indexes or job books (BP36-39) to find the reference to the negative. Your order should be prefixed 'Big Chron neg ...' To avoid accidents and speed up production you will receive the whole box not just an individual negative, please handle with care as negatives can be very difficult to remove from the boxes, handle negatives only by the edges and take every precaution to avoid muddling negatives from different boxes.
