Declaration of Geo. Neal of Old Warden, farmer, that in 1798 he was appointed steward to Lord Ongley of Old Warden, and so continued till the latter's death in 1814. Lord Ongley was seised of a close of 3 ac. in Clifton called Hand Post close, which was let to Geo. Hicks, then Mr. Gaye, then one Wright. He also had 3 closes adj.
