    Exemplification (suit for damages). (i) Robt. Fisher late of Card. labr., Mat. Ashwell late of Fenlake, labr. and Edw. Gascoyne late of Fenlake labr. (ii) Wm. Bedell gent. Hilary. 1671 : i accused by ii of coming (on Aug. 1, 1670) 'vi at armis' to a certain pasture grnd. called (?)Louch at Fenlake and digging up and carrying away earth from 2 acres, so that Wm. B. lost profits until foll. 1 Oct. Defence : Sir Wm. Palmer has held mills on river Ouse there time out of mind has right to dig earth from a place called (?)Dambrooke for repairing it : Rob., Mat. Edw. were doing this as his servants and put themselves on the country. (?) 13 Mar. 1671 : Jury at Bedford finds as defence has stated and discharges R., M. & E.. They claim 6.10 expenses. Wm.
