    i) Samuel Buckingham of Houghton Regis, yeoman and Sarah his wife. ii) Nathaniel Groom of Dunstable, grocer. - several parcels of arable land containing 9 acres by estimation, formerly the lands of William Fossey late of Dunsable, malster and purchased of him by the said Samuel Buckingham and Sarah his wife, being within the fields of Houghton Regis and Dunstable and now in the tenure or occupation of the said Samuel Buckingham. Yearly payment of one peppercorn at the feast of the Annunciation of our Blessed Lady St Mary the Virgin. If i) pays £39 16 shillings to ii) then mortgage is void.     Purchased by Essex Record Office as part of a mixed lot of deeds sold as lot 146 by Lawrences Auctioneers Ltd, Bletchingly on the 28 October 2025. The purchase was made possible thanks to a grant from the Friends of the Nation's Libraries (FNL). The documents were subsequently distributed to appropriate public repositories with the full backing of the FNL and Bedfordshire Archives was identified as the appropriate repository for this document.
