Scope and Content
Will have doubtless heard of dear Mary's safe arrival at Leighton Hall [probably either Legh Richmond's wife or his eldest daughter who married James Marshall in 1822].
On several parochial grounds requested to hasten to Turvey. Compelled to leave Edinburgh on Saturday for Berwick on Tweed hope to reach Mary at Leighton Hall near Lancaster about Friday 12th. Will write more at length when can find a little rest.
