On 19th October 1912,before Sir John Eldon Bankes as John Grundy he was convicted that on 19th July1912 at about 2 am at the dwelling house of John Barber & others at Wallasey Chester he did feloniously break & enter the dwelling house to steal,. After a former previous conviction for felony as Ernest Stevens. he was imprisoned & kept at hard labour for 18 months, Given under my hand 2nd March 1914 H Lister Reade
