Knows difficulties regarding money. Gaol at Kilmainham is "the County gaol (sic) and is often most inconveniently full. So much so, the extra Turnkeys maintained by the Government for the security of the Convict Branch, are not able to sleep there". "The Smithfield prison is ours, and at present perfectly useless".
