Petition of Francis Wingate of Harlington, esq to the Lord Chancellor, relating to stay of execution of an order of 22 February 1661 in a suit pending between himself and William Thorowgood esq. over lands in Harlington and elsewhere. Plaintiff states that in the Civil War Thorowgood "to ingratiate himself with the Committee" resigned "for payment of some Souldiers arreares a stately wood of 200 acres to be cut downe" (Sic)
