- Scope and ContentReads- Taxes due on Bedford House. Thomas James getting in bills. I found today a list of the poll in 1761, & have taken out the names of all those that polled then who lived in London & Middlesex, which I send enclosed; & I have also sent by the coach the account of the freemen belonging to Bedford about 6 years since; & also Goldsmith's account & vouchers. You receive likewise an account of our further proceedings:- (27 names with addresses & comments as before; one "it will be a great deal of trouble to him to go down to Bedford, but if he should go he will as soon vote for Mr. Vernon & Sir Thomas Hatton as for any other person"; one "he voted from Mr. Hanmer at the last election & was £4-£5 out of pocket for travelling expenses - he will take care that nobody shall serve him so again;" 10 dead; 14 can't be found.)
