    Folio 29 - Ellen Wheler of Cranfeld, widow, made 17 Dec. 1555, pr. 10 Feb. 1555/7. “First I bequeth my sowle to allmighty god my maker and to his blessyd soone our saviour Jhesus Christ my Redemer and to our blessid Ladye Sainct Mary and to all the blessid Company of heavin” and burial in churchyard of the apostles SS Peter and Paul of Cranfeld. To mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar of Cranfeld for tithes forgotten 2d.; towards the buying of a cross 6s. 8d.; to the bells 20d.; to the causeway 6s. 8d. to be used on the stretch from the willows to the church where there is most need. To daughter Joan Lawton a mattress, a coverlet, a blanket, a bolster and a pair of flaxen sheets. To Elizabeth Odell, Nicholas Baker’s maid, a coverlet of yellow and a flaxen sheet. To Jhoan Odell her sister a pair of harden sheets. To Agnes Wheler the daughter of Thomas Wheler, a chafing dish and a girdle. To William Wheler her brother a pair of andirons and 40d..
