Bill of complaint of Jn. Frice against Ric. & Thos. Dennis: the Bishop of Bath and Wells 13 Nov. 1538 let to Thos. Clarke esq. the manor of Pucklechurch, Glos.; they sublet to Jn. Alwood of Doynton; and he assigned to Jn. Frice, who has been there for 30 yrs., paying rent successively to the Bishop, Hen.VIII, Ed.VI, Sir Morris Dennys, Ric.Dennis - the last to whom the premises are now come, has the MSS. by subtle & crafty means and will not give them up.
